Re: Using an array of M.2 to cache for HDD array causes M.2s to fill continuously
So even if the cache is set to %100 write its not evicting the data after its been written to the disk? Yes. Because it's a waste to evict data for a caching program. Furthermore, evicting data from the cache does not mean clearing/releasing the corresponding disk sectors in the underlying disk unl...

Re: Using an array of M.2 to cache for HDD array causes M.2s to fill continuously
This was already attempted prior to me posting this. The deferred blocks are only ever reaching %50 but that does not stop the pool from filling up even when the deferred blocks go back to 0. I think you are confusing some things. Deferred blocks have nothing to do with the problem here. As a cachi...

Re: Using an array of M.2 to cache for HDD array causes M.2s to fill continuously
Then I think the way you can try is not to set "MAX" in the L2 cache size setting, but to leave some space.

Re: Using an array of M.2 to cache for HDD array causes M.2s to fill continuously
I am unable to install the drivers for hardware raid (Intel RST), without a fresh install of windows. Is there no other solution? I don't claim to understand the mechanics of how primocache works bit it seems like this should be something i'm just able to do. Hardware raid does not need Intel RST. ...

Re: Using an array of M.2 to cache for HDD array causes M.2s to fill continuously
I sometimes have to downloads massive amounts of data in large amounts continuously for a day or two at a time. I can download up to 20 TB over two days. I needed a very large very fast cache. The cheapest solution was to get a few 4TB drives and combined them into a logical volume to act as the ca...

Re: best settings for gaming?
I think most original settings are good. However, you can change the cache block size to 32KB or 64KB. This will reduce the memory overhead. Currently is about 17GB which is a waste. The memory was used as memory overhead can be assigned to L1 cache, thus you can change the L1 cache size to 40GB or ...

Re: Primo Ramdisk Timed Save Question
As long as you are not using the compressed image, all saving modes only save changed data to the image file. So if there is no data changed, no real write will happen.

Re: Using an array of M.2 to cache for HDD array causes M.2s to fill continuously
I see the "Total Write (Req)" is about 8TB, and currently L2 Cache still has 8.79TB space untouched. I don't see anything wrong here. If you mean L2 cache space is not freed after flushed, you may check the following link. https://kb.romexsoftware.com/en-us/2-primocache/25-why-does-unused-...
