So i've spent some time playing with primocache after buying some licenses and while learning my way around and experimenting i'm up to cache task #9....
i was able to get this back to #1 by completely uninstalling, reinstalling and reactivating which is quite the pain. I had assumed deleting all cache tasks would simply start with cache task #1 again.
Sooooooo...is this a bug, a development oversight... or intended for some reason i cant fathom?
also, how can i address it without a complete wipe? I assumed there would be some kind of ini or cfg saved in programdata or appdata but there was nothing i could find under romex** or primo**
is there a registry string where this is saved I can edit to address it in the interim? At current im constrained to not deleting a cache task due to it requiring a whole reset to undo the cumulative effect.
How to reset the cache task #? Topic is solved
Re: How to reset the cache task #?
The index # of the cache task will be automatically reset to 1, 2, 3... in turn after you restart the computer. The task GUID {XXX-XXX-XXX-XXX} is fixed and not changed.
Re: How to reset the cache task #?
ah, okay. i dont believe i restarted the pc to test that theory, apologies. easier/more convenient than editing the registry each time or some such
Thank you for the information.

Re: How to reset the cache task #?
mmm, we don't think the index # is important... so no method is provided to modify it.
Re: How to reset the cache task #?
oh i fully agree im pedantic and OCD (im currently about to open my pc just to swap ssd m.2 ports to change drive ordering in windows lol). I would love a way to either name or reset it from within the GUI. Imagine if it didnt reset after some months or years you could be up to cache task 1173 or something. That would be absurd.
either way, resetting it by restarting the pc is acceptable as ideally its not something that needs to happen frequently lol.
let me ask you something. will the cache task counter only reset if you have no cache tasks or will the numbers change/reset even for existing cache tasks after a restart?
