Hi-
Since I bought two copies of in 2014 I've reinstalled windows on my machines roughly 6 times, and each time I have to email support to get them to reset the key. I know it's supposed to persist, but it doesn't (usually because my reinstalls format the whole machine).
It would be nice if the software could give me an option to de-activate my license before reinstalling, (maybe limit it to 1 re-license a month or something).
It would be nice not to have to wait several hours for a response - Even though you guys respond very, very quickly!
Or maybe, in the short term you could send across an offline key that I can use without having to go through the activation server?

Deactivating Software
Re: Deactivating Software
Yes, we're also thinking to provide a web interface so that users can manage their licenses by themselves. However, it hasn't been ready yet. I'm sorry that currently you still have to email us for the license transfer.
BTW, only when your computer motherboard is changed, you need to transfer the license. Otherwise you still can simply use the activation code to activate the program, even you reinstall Windows with other hardware change.

Better yet would be to ditch the whole online shebang and allow paying customers to use serial numbers instead - but this issue has been discussed before.
5 Activation Limit
I'm aware of the age of this thread, but I feel this should be taken into consideration by Romex again.
In my opinion the current licensing model is very outdated and, at least for my european perspective, quite unusual and even pushing potential customers away from being interested in PrimoCache.
I currently have one license for private use but would consider to purchase a few more for a Home Server and all other PCs and HTPCs in my family,
if - and only if - Romex would drop the 5 activations per license limit that renders paid licenses completely useless once a mainboard has been switches 5 times.
I would prefer Romex wouldn't indirectly limit how often their customers are allowed to switch their mainboards.
It should only be up to Romex to limit on how many systems their licensed software is allowed in parallel and set a cooldown on how often a license can be re-used in a given time. Like once every month or so.
I don't have an issue with online activation, it doesn't have to necessarily be an offline-key.
Another software I have become a fan of uses a simple account driven Web Interface License Manager where you only require your mail adress and license key to login.
Once logged in it just shows the mail adress, the license key and it's type, date of issue, payment method and Validity status.
It also lists the maximum amount of devices the current licence can be activated on, the hostnames of all devices the software currently is activated on with a button it disable/free it.
There is no limit in how often the license can be activated as long as the user stays within his limit of purchased allowed parallel activations.
The Web Interface also features a simple button to increase this limit by purchasing additional licenses.
I just love this licensing model and I would like to see you considering the same.
