I recently bought a Samsung 380 Evo.
I am running a Win7 64 Ultimate OS with 12gB of memory and one 500gB Samsung 5400rpm HD. It's has Asus EVO MB with an AMD Phenom, and an AMD 5850 Video card. CPU is an AMD Phenom X4. I'm not overclocked.
I would like to put the OS and my games (mostly FP shooters and Civ5) on the SSD and keep Office and the other unexciting stuff on the HD. My games are all through Steam now.
Is there an optimum setup to provide the anticipated performance increase with this SSD? Which of your products would be the best to make this happen?
Can you also recommend a utility that will let me move files between the drives and avoid an uninstall/reinstall cycle?
Thanks!
Optimum setup
Re: Optimum setup
Try these, I move many temp files created by by various programs to Primo Ramdisk's that I have set up (20 Gig Memory in my system) so I have plenty of room.
Used CAREFULLY, you can move complete program directories from your SSD to the old hard drive.
#1 Link Shell Extension
#2 Junction Link Magic
Just google them. They are both free.
