Ramdisk question

Post by molitar »

I have 12GB of memory total in my Windows 7 32bit (patched RAM) works great. Now normally I have setup a 6GB Ramdisk with up to a 4GB pagefile. Question is can the hybrid option be used that if all 6GB of the ramdisk gets used than to expand it to a larger amount of free RAM or use some of the space on my HDD if it needs to? I have 17 days left on my trial for this software and plan to purchase it as this has been the ONLY Ramdisk that has not caused my system to bluescreen after installing. Even setup the Firefox and IE cache to be on the Ramdisk. Great software.

Hi molitar,

Do you mean the hybrid-ramdisk? You may create a larger ramdisk, for eg. 10GB, and assign 6GB memory and 4GB HDD space. Please see

However if you want to use this ramdisk for pagefiles, please don't use the hybrid-ramdisk. Otherwise such settings may cause recurseive issue and lead to bluescreen.
