iSCSI - cache reset on reboot

Post by 0ss555ines »

Hello

I am using PrimoCache to cache volume on an iSCSI LUN.

Caching works quite well; however, I have found a restart of the computer causes a flush of the cache. Is this intended behavior / a known issue with iSCSI LUNS or could this be something else on my end.

I am running Windows 8.1 and the volume is not a boot volume.

Let me know if you need any further information.

Thanks
Daniel

This is by design. When you restart the computer, PrimoCache has to reset the cache content as you reconnect the iSCSI target and the data in this iSCSI target might have been modified.

Thanks for the information. That sounds completely reasonable.
