SSD attached to LSI Megaraid

Post by alecl »

I have an 840 EVO that I want to test as a cache for one of my RAIDs. I have just started testing PrimoCache but have a question. In the create L2 cache menu I see my drives but what I don't see is any kind of label or size to make sure I am formatting the correct drive. Is it typical to not see the drive info? All PrimoCache is showing is Local Disk and my Raid set as D:.

Can you upload a screenshot? Generally PrimoCache shows the drive infomation for all available partitions.

Yeah here is a screen shot. http://i.imgur.com/mwqa9t6.png I wonder if it has to do with the RAID cards, as it shows the RAIDs but not the individual disk.

Does your 840EVO show up as a drive in "My Computer"? If not, you might want to access disk management and initialize/format your drive before you reformat it with Primocache as L2.

If you are using hardware RAID/fakeRAID, PrimoCache should show the label given to the RAID setup - it may be worth checking your LSI configuration to see if a volume name is defined.
