Hi,
I'm using a partition on an SSD as a L2 cache for my slow hard drive. I would like to use Primo's L1 cache to cache stuff on the SSD as well as the hard drive. If I add a different partition of the same SSD to the list of drives to cache, is Primo smart enough to just use the L1 for that partition, or will it try to cache it with L2 (which is pointless because it's on the same physical drive)?
I could create a separate cache task but I'd rather not have to decide how much RAM to allocate to caching the SSD versus the HD since the software is in a better position to decide that than me.
L1 Cache for Same Physical Disk as L2
Re: L1 Cache for Same Physical Disk as L2
Well, so far PrimoCache is not smart enough in your scenario. But thank you for the idea, we may improve it later.
Re: L1 Cache for Same Physical Disk as L2
OK, thanks for the information. It's not really a big deal, I added a separate cache task and it seems to be working great.
