How to Use PrimoCache to Reduce SSD Wear?

Hi everyone,

I noticed both of my SSDs recently dropped to 99% health, and since I’m still new to computer hardware, I’m not sure if this is something I should be worried about. I’ve read that PrimoCache can help by using RAM for write caching instead of writing directly to the SSD, which might slow down wear.

I already purchased PrimoCache, but the settings feel a bit advanced for me as a beginner. Could someone guide me on how to set up RAM for write caching properly?

For reference, I have 32GB DDR4 RAM.

For modern SSDs, lifespan is usually not a major concern in daily use. However, if you are particularly concerned about SSD longevity, you may want to consider using PrimoCache's Defer-Write feature to reduce the SSD's write wear. Given that your system has 32GB of RAM, you can allocate 4-8GB as Level-1 (L1) cache. Please ensure that your system still has sufficient memory for Windows and other applications after allocation. Below is the configuration for your reference.

L1 Cache: 4-8 GB
L2 Cache: 0 (Disabled)
Defer-Write: Enabled
Latency: 10-30 seconds
Other Settings: Default
