I've encountered a persistent error using Primo Ramdisk on my AMD system: "A new disk has been created, but an error occurred while assigning a drive letter":
Primo Ramdisk software version: 6.6.0
Motherboard: ASUS ProArt X670E-Creator WiFi
BIOS: 2403, 9/24/2024
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X
Memory: 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5-6000 G.Skill Trident (EXPO I set in BIOS)
OS: Windows 11 24H2 64-bit, build 10.0.26100.2161
This error occurs repeatedly with "Create New Disk" using Type "SCSI Disk", but does not occur with Type "Direct-IO Disk".
Also, the same Primo Ramdisk installation in my ASUS ProArt Z790-Creator WiFi motherboard with Intel Core i9-13900K CPU & 64GB of DDR5-6000 memory does not reproduce this error with Type "SCSI Disk".
Primo Ramdisk is thus problematic running on my AMD system with Type "SCSI Disk". Please investigate whether this is a software bug.
Error occurred while assigning a drive letter
Re: Error occurred while assigning a drive letter
This error occurs when Primo Ramdisk cannot detect the existence of the specified drive letter. Have you checked the health of your Windows system first? Please see
