Failed to aquire Status

Post by jotte »

Hi, first of all - congrats on this product!
I just installed FC / disk 0.5.0 a few days back and it worked just fine.
Today I tried to use it again, but I'm getting "Failed to acquire status! [0x80041001]:

Did you change the system time after FC was installed?

You might check the Event Viewer to find if there are error events from FC.

1. I never tampered with the system time.
2. I checked in Event Viewer and I wasn't able to find any errors, warning or events tied to this issue.

But, today when after checking the Event Viewer I ran FC again and this time it worked! Last evening, when I had the issue, I closed the application and restart it again like 3 times, today it worked right away. Meanwhile I have not restarted the system, it was only on stand by during the night.
So... for the time being I can't reproduce the issue. If it appears again I will try to better investigate.

Thank you

Thank you, jotte.

If you see the issue again, I think you might try the restart of the computer to check if this helps or not.

We'll trace this issue soon.
Ps. Does the Sata work in ACHI mode or in IDE/compatible mode? What's the driver for the sata?

The SATA is working in IDE/compatibility mode; I will check the driver, but I think it is the default M$.
My first instinct was to restart the machine, but I usually restart the machine very seldom (only after updates or new installs that requires that); after installing FC I know for sure I restarted the machine.
P.S. last night FC worked fine!

This happened to me within half an hour ago.

OS: XP x86 sp3
RAM: 4GB
HDD Mode: AHCI
Boot option: /PAE

Fancy Cache Options:
Enabled Hidden Memory
Level 2 Cache used all available hidden memory (508MB)

=============================================================

I managed to fix this same problem by doing the following:

1. Uninstall Fancy Cache using the provided uninstaller
2. Disable /PAE and Reboot
3. Clean registry using CCleaner
4. Enable /PAE and Reboot
5. Install and let the installer reboot

on a side note, this works perfectly with Ext2 IFS

edit: fixed instructions
