Hey Folks
My first post and I hope you folks can enlighten me.
Till now I have been using Enmotus Fuzedrive for a single SSD+HDD (data non-boot only) for bulk storage while all other drives are SSD/NVME. Now I am adding a few more 8TB HDDs to my PC and hence looking at PrimoCache as a solution for a single SSD to cache multiple HDDs. Before I do that I have some basic questions I hope can be answered here by FMs.
Q1. PrimoCache can use a single SSD to cache multiple HDDS? Yes/No?
Q2. Does PrimoCache detect and bypass sequential read/writes as most HDDs have better transfer rates in sequential mode? For ex: I want to use deferred writes for only random writes and bypass large file writes direct to HDD which have reasonably good seq.writes anyways and also save write cycles on my SSD to preserve its longevity. Likewise when I read large video files I dont want a single large file to populate my entire read cache. Is this handled well by PrimoCache?
Q3. I can install PrimoCache with existing formatted HDD without having to disturb them or having to backup and restore existing data?
Q4. Is the SSD cache a persistent cache across reboots or is the data completely flushed to HDD on a clean shutdown to be repopulated on next boot? (See Q5 below for context)
Q5. Is the SSD cache formatted the regular way and can I reuse it when I dualboot Linux? For example I intend to experiment with BCache on Linux for the same thing that PrimoCache does with Windows - using the same SSD.
Q6. What is the optimal size for an SSD cache? I actually have a 3dXPoint 16GB Intel Optane m.2 SSD that I want to use for the SSD cache. This is the context for Q2. Currently I use a 128GB SSD with fuzedrive but want to play with the Optane SSD after I remove FuzeDrive.
Thanks for your replies.

No
Yes, no need to change existing system and data.
Persistent.
No. It's formatted in a dedicated way.
For caching, more cache size, better cache performance.
