Hello I'm a newbie!
FIRST of all: PrimoCache is working really impressive. We are using an AMD-EPYC-Server (OS: Windows 2019), Seagate-SAS-HDD's with 15000rpm and 1TB NVMe-SSD gen 4 with 3D-Nand for caching. The acceleration seems ca. 400%. On our old system we were using SAS-HDD's with 7500rpm and Intel Optane SSD with software Intel CAS for caching. The results were moderat.
BUT we still have a few small problems: (i) After overloading the system with i/o-tasks the shutdown of Windows defects (some services are hanging) when PrimoCache is running. (ii) It is not possible to resize the HDD in a correct manner when PrimoCache is active. The function pause fails. (iii) The Windows repair tools SFC and DISM fail when PrimoCache is active.
Kind regards, Peter
Very impressive but some problems
Re: Very impressive but some problems
Thank you for trying our product!
Could open the PrimoCache and then choose/highlight the target volume item in the main dialog, then make a screenshot of the PrimoCache main dialog? We'd like to see how the cache is configured and used.
This is by design. PrimoCache prevents the resize because otherwise the whole caching need to be reset.
This should be no problem. Maybe this issue is related to the issue (i)?

Re: Very impressive but some problems
not this one, we'd like to see the screenshot of the PrimoCache main dialog which shows the cache task and target volumes (highlight the target volume before making the screenshot). Thanks.

Re: Very impressive but some problems
Could you check Windows Event Viewer and see if there were any events from ReFS? And for the C drive, could you run "chkdsk" to see if there are any problems? Thanks.
