Exclude blocks from PrimoRAM-Disk-Images

Post by CrypEd »

Starting the PC with cache being active on a partition while auto-load a RAM-disk makes Primo read-cache the RAM-disk images.

Reading-In such RAM-Disk image is a non-frequent task that won't happen again during the runtime... so we do not want it to be cached at all. To this time i have to seperate some space of my SSD for an individual partition where i put the RAM-Disk-Images onto, to make them not being cached.

I know that PrimoCache isn't aware of files, just blocks, but PrimoRAM-Disk maybe IS aware which blocks that image-files are made off.

So what i want is that PrimoRAM-Disk logs the blocks it's going to read for the loading of an image... and PrimoCache marks these blocks as "excluded from read cache" (maybe also write, if possible) so these would not spam the cache while on shutdown writing to that blocks going directly to disc.

Is this possible?

Edit: Maybe it would be far more easy...just start RAM-Disk FIRST on boot.... and when finished SECONDLY start cache. ;)
