Re: PrimoCache device driver slowing down SSD copy...
You mean the problem occurs even if no cache task is created? This seems weird. If no caching is set up, PrimoCache should not affect the speed at all. If you have time, can you make a simple video to show us this problem? Thank you.

Re: Write to L2 Cache immediately
PrimoCache populates L2 data asynchronously in order not to affect the reading speed. You can set the L2 gather interval to "INSTANT" which means that PrimoCache will ignore the system busy state and issue an L2 gather request to the HDD immediately on the read completion. However, if the ...

Re: Windows write-caching enabled or disabled?
Should I be able to run with Windows write-caching enabled? If so, is there an advantage? Yes, please see https://kb.romexsoftware.com/en-us/2-primocache/67-shall-i-disable-windows-write-caching-when-defer-write-is-enabled If Windows write-caching is enabled, large file transfers (~30GB+ system bac...

Re: RAID 0 and PrimoCache
There are no special settings for RAID drives because PrimoCache does not operate drives directly, but handles them through the operating system, so all drives are treated the same.

Re: Primocache & Gaming
You can try to increase the block size to 64KB to reduce the memory overhead. Currently it is ~10GB which is a waste. This means cache uses about 42GB RAM, and there might be insufficient RAM for games/applications.
Please note that changing the block size will clear all cached data in L1 and L2.

Re: Optane 905p OS Drive, 2TB SSD & 6TB HDD setup help
Thank you for your correction. Sorry, I forgot to compare the 4K QD1 of these two drives, as the Optane 905P specs don't provide this value. I checked our test data, combined with the test results on the Internet, and found that the 4K QD1 value of the Optane 905P is about 70~90K IOPS for both read ...

Re: Setup advice and "OS Managed Memory" meaning in L1 Cache task configuration
For the 64 GB laptop, to confirm, even with the unusually large amount of RAM, it's best to use total RAM subtracting normal RAM usage plus 1 GB. So for 64 GB total and 20 GB regular use, and 1 GB extra, 43 GB for PrimoCache? You can reserve more RAM for your system in case you need it. So if your ...

According to their data specifications, Samsung 990 Pro is almost 2x faster than Optane 905P in both Sequential R/W and Random 4K R/W.

Re: Setup advice and "OS Managed Memory" meaning in L1 Cache task configuration
In the settings for the Configure Parameters for New Cache Task i can set "OS Managed Memory (MM)". Does this refer to the memory that: Please see https://www.romexsoftware.com/en-us/primo-cache/terms-configuration.html#L1 After you set L1 cache, this part of physical memory will occupied...
