Freeze/Crash delay writing into a RAID 1 volumne

Hi. Earlier I tried to move about 4GB of images from my SD card in J drive to M drive, which is basically a RAID 1 volume on Intel Rapid Storage Technology 10.6.0.1002 on Intel Z68 chipset. http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee209/AnnihilatorX/fancycache.png The primary cache is set to 1GB as above....

Re: Persistant SSD caching

I totally agree, L2 cache if it is an SSD, should be made a persistent cache. Many advantage of doing so as well If you have a specific SSD as s a write cache you don't care about wear on the flash (may be it's an old drive), then you can speed up write operations in a HDD without risk of losing dat...

Re: Speed Problems

One question I can answer is: Quoting from Wikipedia However, similar to the way the original Phenom handled DDR2-1066, current Phenom II platforms limit the usage of DDR3-1333 to one DIMM per channel; otherwise, the DIMMs are underclocked to DDR3-1066. It is possible that by populating all 4 channe...

Re: About SSD caching

Oh thanks In that case I'd suggest to developers to consider using SSDs as persistent caches like the Intel's Smart Response Technology Intel's SRT functions like an actual cache. Rather than caching individual files, Intel focuses on frequently accessed LBAs (logical block addresses). Read a block ...

About SSD caching

Hi I have a few question on the software I have a couple of very old SSDs, 16Gb ones. Intel who just released new Z68 chipset and a SSD caching feature called Smart Response Technology, which will be available in the Intel Rapid Storage Technology 10.5 drivers. I'd assume it performs the same thing ...
