Are you suggesting trim can mess up an SSD?

I eventually uninstalled Primocache and, since then, program loading time has become painfully slow (up to 3x as long as before). Any evidence that Primo uninstall leaves problems behind?

Yes you can, I do. There's little point to having it running, and you shouldn't use it's RAPID feature anyhow when Primocache is installed/in-use.
