What does the setting "Averaging Write Amount" do?

In what situations does it give a performance boost?

If the option "Averaging Write Amount" is enabled, the program averages the data amount during the latency time and smoothly writes them to the disk/volume. Thus it is able to prevent large burst write, and the cache works mostly like a write buffer.
