transfer speed drops to basic HDD speed after several seconds

I use primocache on my home NAS. I'm using 10Gbit NIC's in my primary desktop and NAS, have a cat7 cable on both ends, and use a 10Gbit Switch. I get to close to 800MBps for about 6 seconds, after which it drops to less than 200MBps. I have played around with the settings, but it continues to happen.
