Cache on external drive

So I just upgraded my laptop to an SSD (128GB) Now, my game files are on my previous drive (HDD) which I use a SATA to USB adapter to access it. Using primocache, it works perfectly as it speeds up the loading times and had my configuration to read-only to prevent data loss when unplugged. (L1 = 2048MB, L2 = 10240MB)
My problem is, whenever I unplug the HDD, the cache seems to resets back
Is there a configuration I could do to keep the cache in my SSD?
