L2 never Filling

I love Primocache but honestly I haven't been able to get my L2 above 1tb approx because Primocache appears to constantly be dumping files from L2 without a reason. Last night for instance the unused L2 was 1.95TB, this morning it's 1.96? I did purchase the Pro license to use the larger l2 when I got it, however it's never been able to use it. I'm currently debating redoing the cache again, and trying to give each spinner it's own 1tb partition.

Right now I have the C:\ cached to L1, and the 3 spinners cached to L1 and L2. The L2 is partitioned currently as 512GB Write, 2.5TB Read. Before it was not using the individual Read and Write option and was just the entire drive as Read/Write, essentially the same thing was going on I'd built 1tb of cache over months and right now I've got around 512gb.

If use case makes any difference, all 3 14tb drives are for games from various store fronts and emulation. The idea was for Primo Cache to handle what data is on the L2 SSD rather me choosing to install some games to the drive myself. The nearly 80gb of L1 handles almost all the write cache and since using Individual Read and Write Cache to L2 I've noticed the 512gb of L2 Write cache has never been touched not once. L2 immediately starts to fill but only fills a tiny bit and then appears to essentially just quit.

Honestly, I'd just like to find a way to use more of the large SSD or if it's not possible just only use a 1tb L2 as that seems to be a hidden limit even with Primocache Pro. Like I said, debating on using 3 1tb L2 partitions because I can't ever get PrimoCache to use more than approx 1tb in l2 and maybe having separate smaller partitions would finally get PrimoCache to use more.

I cannot open the picture @imgur.com at the moment. Can you click the "Full Editor & Preview" button, then click the Attachements tab - "Add files" button to upload the picture and then click "Place inline" to put the picture link into your post.

PS. We will have some improvements on L2 filling issues in the version 5.0 which will come out this year.

Why don't you try just making 1 shared cache for L1 and L2, use in instant caching, and disable Free Cach on Written. If you have any realtime defragment, like Diskeeper, or realtime optimize driver, disable it.

I presume that this is your gaming PC and not a server.

So the new version Primocache will be 5.0?

I'm using 1 shared L1 cache, I was also using just 1 shared L2 cache except the C:\ that's it's own SSD and only get read cache in L1.

I've just tried resetting it with a single shared L1 the same way, and the entire L2 set to read only without deferred write on. I've also disabled free on written. After 3 day's my L2 has went from the total of 3.73TB to 3.72TB free :(

Is your hard drive ever idle? Time when the hard dive has no or low activity?

Just for a test, disable L1 cache and just use L2.

The drives are often idle, the only thing I keep on the spinners is games so outside when steam updates which uses the L1 write cache the drives are normally idle. L2 cache immediately started filling upon re-creating it without the write portion. It's only filling at approx .01tb a day. Today it's at 3.71TB free.

It will fill approx 1-1.5tb before it kind of just hovers at that point. I will see the free space growing and then shrinking by .01tb, occasionally I've seen .1-.3tb get used but within a few days it's released. I've always wondered if it's related to using l2 as write cache even though with 78gb of l1 it's never used. That's why right now I'm trying just read on l2.

I've now chosen the ignore windows idle/busy signal. 3.64tb is now free of l2 since the last post 8 hours ago. That's a significant amount of used space compared to the .01tb a day before.

Well it got to 3.61TB free before going back to 3.67TB free releasing a lot of space instead of filling.
