Hi, I wanted to try the primocache program, but I'm having trouble setting it up as I don't fully understand which settings to use (even in every detail) with my specific configuration, even though I've searched and searched through the forum posts.
I'm looking for a setting mainly to mitigate the wear of the components (especially data and files) if possible without decreasing the performance of the peripherals or the system, even if it seems that primocache improves them anyway.
Settings for each feature.
If characteristics are feature 1:
64GB RAM
1 SSD 512 - for the system only
1 SSD 512 - empty (unused)
1 NVME - games or heavy programs only
2 HDD - data and files only
If characteristics are feature 2: without 1 SSD 512 - empty (unused)
What setting should I use In detail (in every setting)? I thank.

Besides, I see you have an empty SSD and HDDs. So you can use this SSD as level-2 cache to speed up HDDs reading. 100% read for L2 should be enough. For more details about level-2 cache, please see

There is the possibility of using 1 empty SSD as L2 cache, there are no empty HDD.
A possible "configuration 1" with 1 empty SSD, "configuration 2" if it did not exist, therefore without 1 empty SSD.
I understand that deferred writing to be "most risk-free" requires a UPS, and I had already reread the guide several times.
I would have preferred more help in knowing how to set each specifically settings with this peripherals.

In my ignorance I'm trying some settings, always taking exemple from some forum posts and the guide, even if I'm confused.
There are sporadic micro lags whenever it pleases even if rare and random whether the system is idle or under load,
sometimes even almost imperceptible but the system freezes for 1-2 seconds, sometimes in fits and starts
when loading demanding programs such as "heavy" games or it transfers files of approximately 4gb and up,
without active the program this does not happen
cache task#1
1 SSD and NVME (system, games and programs) "only" with 32gb L1 cache "reading and writing"
2 HDD (files and data) "only" with max L2 cache "just reading" from 1 SSD 512gb (Gather interval Default)
block size 64kb
defer-write 10sec (native) set for each peripheral
Is the L2 cache better read-only as it appears by default? Also the value of "Gather interval"?
the 2 HDD without cache L1?

I recommend to create 2 cache tasks. Below are settings for your reference.
task#1:
target drives: C: D:,
L1: 24GB, shared R/W
L2: /
Block size: 4KB
Defer-Write: 10s, native
Prefetch: Enabled
task#2:
target drives: E: F:,
L1: 8GB, shared R/W
L2: MAX, 100% read
Block Size: 64KB
Defer-Write: /
Prefetch: Enabled.
I see E: and F: drives contain data & files which may be important, so I don't enable Defer-Write for them. The task#2 is to improve the read performance of these two drives.
PS. Your current configuration also disables the Defer-Write on E:&F: because only L2 read cache is enabled for them.

so in my case 2 cache tasks even if they require additional resources was the fundamental step.
E and F are stored data not often used, their priority is to have minimal wear on the supports for greater durability over time.
I tried various settings and it is possible that the first information was not so precise,
also because the secondary settings are all standard.
A clarification, must the Windows cache settings remain standard as in the image? Update:
I have the possibility to have a working UPS as a gift even if it has been abandoned by an office.

This is Windows write caching like Defer-Write if you use the standard option (Enabling write caching on the device). If you turn it off, Write performance will be affected, causing writes to become slower.
Even you have a UPS, you still need to pay attention to system freezes, blue screens, etc. which may cause data loss when defer-write is on.
