[2023-04-07] PrimoCache 4.3.0 for Win10/11 released!

Post by Support »

Greetings everyone,

We are pleased to announce the release of PrimoCache 4.3.0 for Windows 10 and 11. The full list of changes is available in the changelog page. The packages can be downloaded from our downloads page.

Due to changes in Microsoft's driver signing policy, this new version cannot support other versions of Windows for the time being. We will support them as soon as possible.

The development team thanks everyone who gave us bug reports, suggestions or feedback!
If you have any questions or comments, we'll be happy to address them here.

DirectStorage support! Thank you so much! Here's what I get from BypassIO fsutil command (I have a RAID-0 setup, so Intel RST drivers are the ones at fault now):

When defer-write is enabled, bypassIO requests will be blocked by PrimoCache. Otherwise the data read by DirectStorage may not be up to date.

Thanks for the update. Prefetching from L2 cache on boot speed up caching in memory and stop the hard drive from getting threshing. I increase my L1 from 2GB to 4GB on my laptop and 4GB to 8GB on my Desktop.

Nice addon feature actually speed up preloading even faster.

No fix for the urgent write mode that blocks reads?
Because that is the only problem I have (and I was waiting for that specific fix ...)

What does "freeze cache" due as compared to pause cache?

Never mind, I found the explanation

We've made some improvements on Urgent Write and Flush Throttling, but haven't integrated them into this version yet as more testing and possible further improvements are needed.

We will support server systems as soon as possible to meet the Microsoft's new signing requirements.
