Best Level 1 Configuration for my Gaming/Streaming setup

Post by AGTDenton »

Hello,

I'm trying to work out the best configuration for my setup.
My confusion is how much L1 cache to set based on my scenario.

I bought the software to be used with 2 SSDs for 2 HDDs

Specs as follows:
RAM 32GB
  • 512GB NVME - OS
2TB NVME - Modern taxing AAA Games
8TB HDD - Older Slower Games / general data
    8TB HDD - Streaming / general data
    1TB SSD - Cache for 1x 8TB HDD
    1TB SSD - Cache for 1x 8TB HDD
At the moment I have 2 cache configurations setup with 10GB L1 allocated to each, so 20GB in total.
Does this mean that if I were to run a game from the NVME 2TB drive it would only have access to 12GB which is also shared with all the other running processes?

Would someone have a suggestion as to how I should configure it all based on my use scenario?

Many Thanks!

RAM used as L1 cache is exclusive to PrimoCache, so Windows and other applications/games cannot use this part of RAM.

In your case, you should reserve more RAM for games. You can reduce L1 cache to 5GB or less for each task.
