After reducing the block size to 32kb in the cache configuration menu I get the "processing, please wait! message.

This has been running for about 15 hours so far. Is this to be expected?

Unfortunately this does not seem to show me if the process has hung or is still working.

This is not as expected if defer-write was not enabled before. The process seems hung and you might have to reboot the computer. I'm sorry for this issue.
