I have a use case of which I'd be content to use a storage spaces Mirrored volume (SSDs) as the L2 cache if it would actually afford additional data integrity to the L2 cache. Any reason why it would be a terrible idea or perform awful?
I see when I go to create L2 storage that all of my mirrored Windows "Storage Spaces" volumes are indeed presented as possible volumes for use as L2 cache.
If it's a matter of hardware keeping up, the workstations I'd be doing it on have 20 cores, 256GB RAM, and the SSDs are U.2 just a step below Optane in IOPs.

Re: Using Storage Spaces Mirrored SSDs as L2 Cache?
Disks created by Windows Storage Spaces are 4Kn drives. They are not supported to be L2 cache devices currently.

Supported since v4.2.0. Thanks.
