@vlbastos, thank you very much for your information on Resizable BAR and DirectStorage.

Btw, today i wanted to check if my system is DirectStorage Ready:
(opt.: activate XBox Game BAR in Settings) -> Win+G -> GoTo Settings, than "Gaming Funktions" on the left:

It says now:
GPU: DirectStorage optimized
OS: newest DirectStorage IO-optimization supported
Drive: Bypass IO NOT SUPPORTED because of FancyCcv.sys Driver. :(
Do you have an idea what's the problem with this driver and how it can be solved?

Looks like FancyCcV.sys needs to be updated for DirectStorage support:

Is there any news about this?

It should be possible, this software does what Primo RAMDISK does but with the VRAM, It would be nice to have this feature included as another L1 cache in PrimoCache

I've got an RTX 3090 with 24GB of VRAM that I got at launch at Best Buy. I've got a 3080, a few 3070s, and like 5 1660 Supers sitting around too. I haven't played a single game since I bought it. I'm lazy and prefer playing in bed on a console, but I used to be a big-time PC gamer and I can't break the habit of always wanting the best stuff. I'll probably grab a 4090 at some point (and then less than a year later I'll hate myself when a 4090 TI or 5090 is announced).

I love this idea, but the justifications being made don't take into consideration that the ratio of "cool idea" to "genuinely useful to lots of people" is a huge factor in allocating dev resources. You might be able to find a usecase for yourself, but can you find one for 2,000 other people willing to pay for it? I want it, too, but unless they can come up with a revolutionary approach that makes it genuinely beneficial to a large subset of potential customers, it's probably not going to be a priority unless a dev finds it genuinely interesting and works on it as a passion project.

I really, genuinely hope I'm wrong and they're working on this right now because it would be really cool (and there are a bunch of other long-standing useful requests that haven't seen any movement, so I'm not sure what else is being worked on).

Personally, I think this request is a waste of resources.

If you have a GPU with lots of RAM (means: an expensive one), you either use it or not.
If you use it, Primocache can't.
If you don't use it: sell it and buy RAM from the money you get for it - PrimoCache can then use that RAM.

Agree. Also, RAM is faster than VRAM for this purpose.

DirectX 12 Update Allows CPU and GPU to Access VRAM Simultaneously:
Microsoft has announced a new DirectX12 GPU optimization feature in conjunction with Resizable-BAR, called GPU Upload Heaps, that allows the CPU to have direct, simultaneous access to GPU memory.

No matter what they allow, standard RAM is faster, cheaper.
With PCIe 5.0 x16 you can have theoretical 64GB/s.
But compared to standard RAM, it would still have much higher latency due to PCIe BUS.

Please do not waste time where it's not needed....
