Prefetch last cache: where is it saved ?

Post by AlexByrth »

Hi !

I'd like to know where the prefetch last cache is saved. Is it saved to L2 cache (usualy a fast SSD) or to one of cached HD (slow ones) ?
I'm using Primocache 2.7.0 in both office and home desktop.

By default, it's in the program installation folder. Actually only an index file will be stored.

In this case, I guess if I reinstall primocache in my partitioned SSD drive, it will write/read the prefecthed L1 cache data over there.
Is it correct?

Yes. but no real data will be saved. The saved files usually are very small. And you can change the location by editing the Windows registry value "PrefetchPath" in the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Romex Software\FancyCcV\
