Primocache lags my system out

With everything ticked and set. Using my C HDD drive for ready and write enabled. Including L2 cache enabled to my flash drive. My system shuttles like crap after using my pc. Benchmarks showing good, averaging 2kmb in read and write but then why is my system lagging?

My rig is currently holding 3GB ram on windows 7 64bit. I took out 600MB for cache drive. The statistics are showing and everything.

Any ideas? Do i have too untick some things? Because i got everything ticked including defer-write?

Cheers!

If your flash drive is not fast enough or it is not a USB3.x drive, I'd suggest you disable L2 cache. Otherwise it will lag your system a lot.

It is indeed a 2.0 flash drive, not the fastest but yet it's normal flash drive. Is this really affecting it? I thought it's causing the stutters because i have my Prefetch and Superfetch services completely turned off for applications but turned on for boot only?

Cheers!

Actually L2 is designed to use SSDs or usb3.x drives to speed up HDDs. The speed of usb2.0 drives are not good enough as L2 cache. I think this is the main reason that you see the lagging.

My rig only supports 2.0 port, but i have got a spare 3.0 flash drive which i don't use, if i stick this in my PC, will it be any better?

No, if your computer doesn't support 3.0 usb port, the 3.0 flash drive still works with 2.0 speed.

Sandisk Extreme USB 3.0 drives are the fastest and best you can get. Can shift data at more than 200mb/s, whereas the absolute max you will get with USB 2.0 drive is around 30mb/s, which is a lot slower than your HDD, and will indeed cause the horrible lags you are experiencing.

So i guess SSD will do the job for L2 cache.
