New to Primo Cache

Hi folks, I purchased and downloaded Primo Cache today. I have a nice Jet Line, Windows 7 with a 600GB Western Digital hard drive and no SSD. Trying to set up the program to use with FSX has been a mystery. I popped in a 128 GB USB 3.0 flash drive to use as my L-2 cache, thought I followed the instructions but it still shows as disabled. THE NEXT STEP Seems to be to add my 'c" hard drive but indicated that all data will be lost clicking the "format" button. This is certainly not my intent. Have I missed a step here? Would greatly appreciate assistance.

Thanks,

Ellis

Hi Ellis,

To use L2 cache, first, you need to create a L2 storage volume. See
http://www.romexsoftware.com/en-us/prim ... orage.html

Then, you can create a cache task for drives on HDDs with L2 enabled using this L2 storage volume. See
http://www.romexsoftware.com/en-us/prim ... cache.html

Selecting the USB does not light up the format rectangle. Local disk under that gives me the Cannot convert message

Finally, I've got it. The old flash drive had failed and was replaced. Thanks, I'll keep your e-mail on file
