Do I need to use Over Provisioning on my Samsung EVO

Hi,

I have a 500GB Samsung EVO. With the Samsung Magician there's an option to enable Over Provisioning. Should I use this if I'm already using PrimoCache? I disabled Samsung's RAPID mode. I have 32 GB of RAM and use 8 GB for PrimoCache between two SSDs. I also enabled a 60 second write-delay. I bought a UPS in case the power goes out so I think a 60 second delay would be OK but I could be wrong. Thanks for any suggestions.

From what I have read the default over provisioning on EVO drives is adequate for typical consumer use. In limited testing I have found a modest reduction in write amplification using Primocache L1 to front end SSDs (some trims take place within the cache). All else being equal I see no reason to increase the default OP. I wouldn't decrease it either as EVOs use TLC NAND which has a lower endurance threshold relative to MLC.
