freeze the entire system while waiting for L2 cache write

I use a standard SD card for playing with PrimoCache as a read cache,
although it do really helped some workload,
but sometime the entire system will freeze up and waiting for some activity to be finished on that L2 cache,
could PromoCache avoid that kind of system lockup in future?
as I know some simple file-level cache program like eBoostr do bypass some I/O direct to disk if it think L2 cache can't handle,
and eBoostr's L2 cache doesn't work at partition level, it just create a huge file then map on it,
kind of convenient,
is there any recommendation about what to use with PrimoCache?
I am currently using WD Black2, maybe I can chop a piece of SSD partition for PrimoCache?
