Primo crashes Windows 8.1
Posted: Thu Jan 09, 2014 8:11 am
I’m using Primo Ramdisk Standard (trial) on Windows 8.1 32-bits, 10GB of DDR2.
I created a RAM disk of 6GB (SCSI, NTFS), on which I have a page file.
Occasionally (almost daily!) Primo crashes the system.
Here is the WhoCrashed crash dump analysis:
On Tue 07-Jan-14 09:42:19 GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\010714-93812-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: fancyrd.sys (fancyrd+0x76AC)
Bugcheck code: 0x7A (0x20, 0xFFFFFFFFC000009C, 0xFFFFFFFF846B9974, 0x0)
Error: KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR
file path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\fancyrd.sys
product: Primo Ramdisk Standard Edition
company: Romex Software
description: Primo Ramdisk (Std) Controller Driver
Bug check description: This bug check indicates that the requested page of kernel data from the paging file could not be read into memory.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: fancyrd.sys (Primo Ramdisk (Std) Controller Driver, Romex Software).
Google query: Romex Software KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR
I wanted to buy your software, but now I hesitate, unless you have some solution to this problem.
