It would be great to have an option to specify minimum and maximum for cache size, so that it could grow in case of increased harddrive activity such as build/compilation/installation of software. Presumably, 'Cache size shrink timeout' option would be needed for that as well.
For example, I'm using 256MB lazywrite-cache on system SSD with 3600 sec timeout to prolong its life (UPS-powered, of course), and it's more than enough to cache all that insignificant logs/events/whatever small stuff the system writes, but occasionally I install something and have to manually recreate the cache at 1-2GB to reduce disk writes down to 2/3 or even a half of what was requested by an installer because many of them unpack themselves temporarily and then delete those files.
