How to increase bandwidth by creating 2 ram drives?

Does creating 2 ram drives double your throughput (i.e. double your write performance).

Here is a scenario. Is there a difference in performance.

Case 1: Run two disk intensive applications on one large ram drive
Case 2: Run one disk intensive application on one smaller ram drive, then run the second disk intensive application on the other ram drive

I define a disk intensive application as an application writing small random blocks of data i.e. (4k - 32k) for several hundred megabytes

Well, good question! Creating 2 ram drives can increase the throughput a little, but usually not very remarkable. Our program has been designed to handle such scenario, so even using one ramdrive the performance shall be almost the same to two ram drives.
