Free automatically Dynamic Ram on XP

Post by arfgh »

at finally i was able to test the primo ramdisk in other computer.
I just wanted to test this ability to automatically free the dynamic ram when a file is deleted, but unafortunatelly the ramdisk dont free the used ram automatically each 30 secons as was ment. The only way that we can free the used ram is clearing the whole ramdisk content, that isnt useful. The same ability is performed by the vuite ramdisk, so i dont see the improvement in Primo ramdisk.

Exist some problem to automatically release the ram over windows XP ?

It is the most clear suggestion that i could perform.

It requires Windows 7 or later version of Windows to dynamically free memory. Also ramdisks shall be formatted with NTFS file system. For more details, please see

yes but, why cant be performed the same under xp ? or xp x64 sp2 ?
because in this case for these operative system, the use of primo ramisk has any improvement over the last version of vsuite ramdisk.

This feature is quite dependent on Windows system. Microsoft only implements new functions on Windows 7. So currently it is difficult to support "dynamic free" on XP or Vista.

We'll study the posibility, but we also need to take into consideration stabilities when implementing features.
Thanks.

Do it sure that vuite support automatically free the dynamic ram?
I see here that "The Dynamic RAM Allocation feature can't release RAM automatically even if data on ramdisk is not used any more"-
Support for XP would be appreciated too.
