Multi-volume shared cache?

Is it possible for a single large cache to service multiple volumes?
Example case: Windows 7 is on C: drive. iTunes is on D: drive. Instead of setting up two caches, it would be much more efficient to use a single large cache. Since the D: drive is used only occasionally, it is not worth creating a dedicated FancyCache. Instead of two caches (one for each drive), a large aggregated cache is a more efficient use of memory. The large cache would dominantly service the C: drive, but be available to occasionally service the D: drive.
