From my research on the internet, there are at least 5 SSD caching software technology out there.

The only one I would like to have on my system (Thinkpad x220t) is fancycache and primo. The only known software that use both ram and SSD for caching is Fancycache and play nice with primo pro. I hope that it would come out soon.

If the next version does come out, what type of persistent data scheme will be use? Hotswap data, most frequently data, or last write data???

well if the current L1 cache implmentation is a clue they may have several options to choose from im guessing

I am also very interested on the persistent L2 cache, this is the main feature that I am looking for.
My plan is to use an external USB 3.0 SSD for the L2 cache. Having persistent L2 cache is critical, since
it will keep the cache object during reboots.

I have been using FancyCache for 3+ months and find it useful.

My Thinkpad x220t with 8GB of ram have an OCZ Noctic 32GB that I am going to use for the SSD cache. My hard drive is a Seagate Mementos XT 500GB hybrid.

Currently using Primo Pro with a 4GB reserve for ramdisk in dynamic mode and back up to the SSD. I hardly see it been use more than 512mb out of the 4GB. I going to use the rest of space on the SSD for caching.

Can't wait for Fancycache with SSD caching. My thinkpad is going to fly. =)

Persistent Cache is also on my wish list!

What should be really interesting concerning a persistant L2 cache is if you use a RAM-Disk, that supports saving & loading an image of itself. Having an 8 GB RAM Disk would allow to have the 8 GB most used data in the RAM ALL THE TIME. Just imagine that ^^

For the next important new feature of Fancy Cache, I would vote for Persistent L2 Cache !!!
