You could try swapping the HDD and SSD around, but it's very likely that both connections will run off the same (Intel) controller, changing nothing and proving nothing.
Using an external drive would be a better test and gives you something to backup data to afterwards.
If you really cannot wait a couple of days and find this problem makes your laptop unusable, then I'd suggest rejigging your setup to ditch L2 caching completely, placing your OS and key applications on the SSD (drive C) and using the HDD (as drive D) for other data. Doing this properly will mean a Windows reinstall (wiping your SSD at least) but is something that should guarantee a performance boost (assuming the SSD is performing halfway acceptably - what figures did CrystalDiskMark show for it?).

CDM benchmarks look a little slow with sequential read/write (the same as a high-end desktop HDD) but the 4K results seem in line. It should offer a perceptible performance boost over an HDD, especially the lower-power ones used on laptops.

My CrystalBenchMark reading seem quite good, must read the cache from memory. Everything seem be snappy, feel like it is faster than pure SSD setup. That is if Primocache is setup and working properly.
That with 1GB L1 and 32GB L2.

Ah, a Shizuku fan - bet you have
Kanzume Goddess on your
wishlist...
CDM will show very high results on any drive using PrimoCache L1 (RAM) - it disables Windows' own file caching but cannot disable PrimoCache L1 so you will see results comparable to a ramdisk (I see a 10x improvement myself, just using L1). Therefore you will need to disable PrimoCache to allow CDM to properly benchmark your drive.
Good News and Bad news

The good one:
I got it running, with the current arrangement. Did not needed move the SSD to a sata3 usb port;
The bad, to make it work i had to rollback to 0.9.2. So we go back to the fact that the new algorithm is the one with problems.

should i continue to use the "old but gold" 0.9.2 or i should use all the SSD as a partition with my most used programs?
i think the real question is.
Wait for a solution from romex of try the rival software?

If 0.9.2 works for you then by all means stick with it. Moving your programs to SSD is likely to involve significant work.

Since 0.9.2 works, then I think you may try the following two steps for 1.0.1.
1. Make sure that PrimoCache Service is started after 1.0.1 is installed.

This service is important for Level-2 cache
2. You have already tried " lodctr /r", but you may try "lodctr /R:PerfStringBackup.INI" again to rebuild Windows performance counters again. See
http://blogs.technet.com/b/yongrhee/arc ... 008r2.aspx
Thanks again for the testings!

There should be something under the dependencies tab?
Did both steps, still nothing

I have same problem, that have topic starter ( lfernandoec ) on version 2.1.0...
I did lodctr /r and lodctr /R:PerfStringBackup.INI
My Windows never in Idle
Gathering setting of L2cache = 1 sec
