The only thing that appears to have helped me with regards to the faulty/slow L2 cache is enabling/resetting the performance monitors in Windows, via this article:

After the reset and a reboot the L2 cache is once again aggressively filling. I would suggest being a bit more attentive with L2 comments and referring people to that link.

Any updates on this?

On my system it stops writing after it has used about 30GB of the 90GB I've allocated to L2.

You may just be hitting a practical, usable limit on the L2 cache Rob.

You can try the link I left in the post above yours, that resets the Windows performance monitors. But it sounds like your L2 is loading fine, it's just topping out before you'd like it to. I have my L2 set to 30gb, and it floats between 15 full and 29 full.

The other possibility is that there's a different bug with the L2, where it stops filling for some reason once it hits a numerical or percentage-based level.

If you are loosing counters randomly there is a fix I found and presented here:

Never have had problems since I applied this.

I also had the problem due to disabled DiskPerf counters. Romex shall consider adding a feature to force enable DiskPerf. Primocache is useless, if DiskPerf is inactive.
