Windows 8 / vmware workstation ?

Post by wmiswm »

1. will Primo work on windows 8?
2. I am also using VMware to create virtual windows 7/xp machines, will Primo work in such cases?
3. if primo can work in the VMware environment, where should I install it? In the host or in the guest platform?

Yes, it is.

You can run Primo Ramdisk on virtual machines, however a license is required for each virtual machine after trial period expires if you want to continue using it, because virtual machines are treated as real computers.

Platform: VMware Workstation 9

This is because you associate an image file (Plain Image) to the ramdisk. During the loading of the image file to the ramdisk, the memory will be allocated to hold image file data. If you really want both the image file feature and the dynamic memory management feature, you can enable the "Delay Load" option. Please see
http://www.romexsoftware.com/en-us/prim ... -file.html

In regard to the "compact mode", it is exclusive to the "Plain Image" format. Only "Smart Image" format can support "Compact Mode" if you enable the image file option.

Thanks.
