FC Beta 0.7.0 hangs and reboots system

Post by kalua »

I just tried FC beta, and Windows hangs and reboots continually, when loading rxfcv.sys :(

System is XP, SP3, 8GB, with Vsuite RAMdisk.

Only thing I can think of that is unique to this system, is that Windows is installed on an Ocz Revodrive.

Had you tried FC earlier than beta 0.7.0? Does this issue happen only in 0.7.0 version?

Could you list your hardware (CPU/MB)?

Thank you.

I had not tried FC before.

XPSP3, 8GB
AMD Phenom II X4 B50, 3.11gHz
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H

Using latest Vsuite Ramdisk, with 2 ramdisks totaling 3GB, and utilizing invisible memory.

Thank you for the information!

Could you please try the 0.62 version? You may download the version 0.62 from

Volume Edition: http://www.romexsoftware.com/download/b ... .Setup.zip

The 0.62 version boots. I'm working on configuring it now.

I can not enable IM. I am using VSR using IM, and I thought that both VSR and FC could live together, both using IM?

Well, VSR was released very early, and it has no ability to share Invisible Memory with others. The next ramdisk product (Primo Ramdisk) can share Invisible Memory with others, such as FancyCache 0.7.0.

As I posted before, I went back to 0.6.2 and it works, but now it has expired.

I tried upgrading to 0.7.0, but it crashes under Win7:

Hi kalua,

The application crash issue in version 0.7.0 will be fixed soon. I think there are ramdisks or virtual disks created in your win7, right?

Yes, I have a large (3GB) Primo Ramdisk for temp files.

This is on Win7x64, so I am using regular flat memory model.

rxfcv.sys is preventing my system from booting.

Just show the windows loading screen forever (happened after installing fancy cache volume edition)

I think Acronis is installed on the pc too.

Anyways tried to use recovery console to disable the driver, but then that causes the pc to hang and reboot.

How can I remove fancycache from my pc if I can even run safe mode (as stupid driver tries to load in safe mode too)
Safemode won't load just sits there.
Disabling the driver causes pc to reboot and not enter safe mode.

So not sure what I can do.
