Compatibility

Post by Ruhe »

Hello,

is there anything to pay attention for by using FC with

- defragmentation software (Windows built-in, Raxco PerfectDisk...)
- disk Imaging software (Macrium Reflect...)

(especially when Defer-Write is enabled)
Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 64-bit
Intel X25-M (SSDSA2MH080G2R5), 12 GB RAM (2x G.Skill F3-10666CL7T-6GBPK)

Yes, your concern is correct. FC might have some compatibility issues with those software. We are now struggle with these compatibility issues.

It is highly recommended that you test out the beta versions on a non-production machine and do a backup before testing.

On Windows 7 the built-in defragmentation is enabled for all non-SSD drives by default.

Well, we haven't received any bug reports related to the Windows built-in defragmentation yet.
And I think FC since 0.60 can work with PerfectDisk11.
There might be some issues with Acronis imaging software. We are still checking it.
