will l1 / l2 cache make a difference

Post by fpefpe »

Hello --- I was going to install primo-cache on my computer, but the HHD boot drive was going bad so I replaced it with a SSD --- would L1 cache make a differnece now with the (boot) ssd drive?

Also, I have a nvme drive connected to the computer via usb 3 --- could this device be used for L2 cache --- would it make a difference??

Thanks

L1 cache still can help on reading and writing (defer-write). However, the difference may not be very noticeable.

Not recommended because usb devices can be easily removed accidentally.
