I would like to configure L2 to act similar to Intel Optane by caching my external raid. What would be a good guide? I prefer not to use system memory. When writing on my external drive, it would write it first to my L2 in the background then move it to my external drive and vice versa. I think this would still be faster since my L2 is SSD and my external is a mechanical one.
Thanks
Level2 -> Intel Optane
Re: Level2 -> Intel Optane
Sorry for the late reply. PrimoCache supports this by enabling Defer-Write on L2 cache. By default, L2 is set to cache read only. To enable L2 write cache, you may check #5 in the faq page https://www.romexsoftware.com/en-us/pri ... e/faq.html
A quick guide can be found in the following page.

Please note the risk of data loss on sudden power loss or system crash/freeze when enabling Defer-write, even you use L2 cache only.
