I'd like to "store" the license I had for that PC for if/when I get another one. Should I do anything to notify support that the first license I purchased is no longer in use? Or is it OK to simply wait unless/until I need to use my license on another PC?

Email support to reset the first used license. I think bought 6 different one and Support merge them into one, like VL I guess.

Thanks for the response! I used that email, and included all the order info that I received from Romex after making the purchase. I was just now enjoying the fast loading times while playing Call of Duty: Black Ops.
