insufficient memory error

Post by conductor »

I just bought a license for standard edition.
When I try to create a ramdisk on 2003 with 16G, I can only create one with size of 1450.
Anything larger will return an error about possible insufficient memory resources.

Can you help to create a larger ramdisk?

Is the Win2003 on your computer Standard edition or Enterprise edition? If it is win2003 standard edition, the OS supports only 4GB RAM. You need to enable Invisible Memory feature to use the OS invisible memory, please refer to http://www.romexsoftware.com/main/suppo ... g-ram.html

You may check the available physical memory via Windows Task Manager (perfermance tab -> Available physical memory)

PS. the VSutie Ramdisk Standard Edition only supports 4GB size for a ramdisk. please see

I am running Windows 2003 Standard Edition with 64-bit.
According to Task Manager->Performance->Available physical memory, it shows: 13759496
The total memory is: 16766476

I seems to have lots of memory. If I am running 64-bit so it does have access to more than 4GB.

That's really weird...the program shall be able to create a larger ramdisk...

Do you use the latest version of VSuite Ramdisk? Does the problem still exist if you uninstall/reinstall the program?
Could you help to check if it is successful to create two ramdisks, each one is 1400MB?

Many thanks.

Hi

I am running 4.5.3219.1638. It is the latest version.
I tried to create another disk but can only do 400M. According to TaskManager, I have 13G of available memory.
Are there any OS settings that prevent this from happening?

thanks

I have a similar issue where I am using a registered Vsuite RAM disk professional edition on Win 2003 server x64. When I try to allocate a 4 Gb ram disk, I get an insufficient memory exception even though there is 13 Gb available. In fact, the only size I can allocate is under 1512 Mb. If I try to allocate any more disks on top of that, it also fails with out of memory.

Is your Win2003 also standard edition x64? is OS Win2003 or Win2003 R2? And with which service pack?
