Other than creating a hardware-based RAID 0 stripe of multiple SSD drives, is it possible to assign more than one SSD as a L2 cache for a Cache Task?
The reason I ask is that I just finished building a rather large (72 TB) pool of 9 drives, and giving it just 1 TB as a L2 SSD cache is not nearly large enough. The price point on larger SSDs is not good, so I was considering giving it several of them to use with the L2 cache in a single Cache Task for both read and write.
Multiple L2 Cache Volumes
Re: Multiple L2 Cache Volumes
Sorry for the late reply!
The target storage pool is really large...You may try using dynamic volumes (soft-raid) as L2 cache.
BTW, PrimoCache can only support up to 2044GB L2 cache size.

Re: Multiple L2 Cache Volumes
Good to know, thanks for the information. I may end up making it write-cache only in that case. I don't think I would have gone over 4TB, so 2 is a decent compromise.
Cheers.
