Changing Prefetch Order

Post by darth123 »

Within a single cache task, is it possible to change which volume is pre-fetched first, second, etc.?

For example, the cache task has two volumes:
  1. C:
  2. D:
Currently, PrimoCache will prefetch C: until the cache is full before proceeding to D:

What if I want PrimoCache to prefetch D: first?

You could setup separate cache tasks so the prefetches run simultaneously on both drives, getting around the problem completely. You'll just have to be strategic on how you setup L1/L2 assets so they adequately cover each task.

Obviously if both cached volumes are on the same physical disk, it won't speed it up much - that only happens on separate physical disks.
