Hi,
After I updated to the latest version the 3 disks I am caching to 2 SSDs are not available in Windows 10.
This have happened once before but I do not remember the remedy I did last time.
I think I deleted the caches in Primo but now that did not work now.
If I try to create new caches now Primo see it all with GB used and such but in Windows folder they are just blank disks and unavailabe.
So Primo is "seeing" the right stuff but not Windows. It is only regarding the cached disks and every unit shows up fine in the disk management utility in windows so I am pretty sure they are fine.
Hope any of you can help me. I have backups of course but only cloud in the moment so it would take weeks/months to get the data back again.
Thanks!
Ole
Disks unavailable after update
Re: Disks unavailable after update
I think you are talking about the PrimoCache program, not Primo Ramdisk, right? I will move this topic to the PrimoCache section.
Regarding the problem you described, I don't understand it well. Do you mean that volumes being cached are not available or level-2 storage disks are not available? Could you please upload a screenshot of the Windows disk management and PrimoCache main dialog for our reference?
For any caching problems, you may boot up to the safe mode (Windows 10 -> Settings -> Update & Security -> Recovery -> Advanced Startup) and then see if disks are available. In the safe mode, you may uninstall PrimoCache and then boot to see if the problem is gone.
Hope this helps.

Re: Disks unavailable after update
Hi thanks for reply and yes I meant to post this in PrimoCache section.
Thank you for the tip but it did not work completely. I could see the disks content in the advanced startup mode but after uninstalling PrimoCache and logging in to normal mode they are unavailable again.
So the data are there in safe mode luckily but I can not get to these volumes in normal mode.
Talking about Red, Purple and Hal9000 in this image. The other drive at 231GB is the SSD I used for L2 Storage.
Thank you!

Re: Disks unavailable after update
Do you have any encryption software or bitlocker using? When PrimoCache is uninstalled or stops the caching task, it shall have no effects to these volumes.
And could you show me the picture of Windows Disk Management?

Re: Disks unavailable after update
Yes I have bitlocker on most of these drives. Should I turn it off maybe?
I also saw when I looked in the recovery menu that I have a restore point from some days ago. Maybe I should try that and maybe Windows and PrimoCache reverts back to version 3.0.0.
Ataching a screenshot of the diskmanagement.
Thanks

Re: Disks unavailable after update
You may try following methods to see if these help.
Method 1. In Disk Management, right click on the drive in question and assign a different drive letter.
Method 2. Try shutting down and disconnecting the drive. Boot back up and log back in to Windows. Once in Windows, shutdown again. Reconnect the drive and start back up again.
Method 3. If above methods still not work, try turning Bitlocker off

Re: Disks unavailable after update
Hi
I tried method 1 and 2 and it did not work, for method 3 the only option is to turn of Bitlocker for C: for the unavailable disks I only have a option to turn bitlocker on again. They should be on bitlocker now so I do not want to bitlock them with a new password again. Maybe I shall try that restore point?

Re: Disks unavailable after update
In disk management, when you right click the drive and choose "Open" or "Explore" in the context menu, does it show correctly?
Re: Disks unavailable after update
No it says the disk is not available.
Re: Disks unavailable after update
Can you check Windows Event Viewer and see if there are some NTFS errors?
You may run "Chkdsk" to check drives in problem.
